The Department for Transport has made some changes to the country red list for arrivals into England which will come into effect from Friday 19th March at 4am.
From Friday, travel bans now exists for Ethiopia, Oman, Somalia and Qatar which increases the number countries on the red list to 37.
Mauritius and Portugal including Madeira and the Azores have been removed from the red list also from Friday at 4am.
Foreign travellers who have departed from or transited through any country on the red list in the past 10 days will be refused entry into England.
Only British and Irish citizens or those with UK residency rights will be allowed to enter but must pre book and stay in a government approved hotel for 10 days quarantine.
When arriving from a red list country there remains no exceptions for oil and gas or seafarers therefore pre-booking of a government hotel quarantine package prior to arrival into England is required.
