Self-booking on corporate travel or marine travel is currently a very popular idea and whilst the facilities for this are plentiful, companies should carefully consider whether this is appropriate for their business. It has certain advantages:

• It aids in the reconciliation of company credit cards in online travel spend

• Flights: In this section you could make travel reservations yourself. It includes live availability for all low cost carriers (no need to visit different websites). It could also contain specially negotiated fares specific to your company and shows all possible connections / departures in a single entry. This is ideal for booking flight only reservations, point-to-point travel, one-way travel especially in the UK and Europe. It is however not the best solution for quoting the best fares on more complex multi-stop itineraries, or for large crew changes
• Hotels: A huge range of hotels can be booked online including bill back functionality. Ideal to self-book
• Rail: Customers can make their own rail reservations, tickets will be printed by Clyde Travel Management or if arranged, the customer could have their own ticket printer installed at a fee
• Car Hire: Customers can book their own car hire requirements including any particular car hire rates unique to your business
